Trade

The approach of some to the sovereignty question of trade would make all free trade agreements impossible. I believe that free trade is something we should pursue, as long as that trade is fair.

The issue of free trade involves a combination of issues unlike few problems faced by our country. Philosophical questions become reality quickly, and the Congressman has worked to carefully weigh the impact of trade legislation on the people of the Eighth District.

The Congressman has also supported efforts to protect the textile industry from floods of imports from China through the China safeguards, which limit the amount of textiles that can come from China in a given year.
